Former world No. 7 Madison Keys spoke extremely highly of world No. 19 Cori Gauff after beating the 17-year-old in the Adelade 2 semifinal. Keys, now ranked at No. 87 in the world, recovered from a set down to beat Gauff 3-6 6-2 7-5 and reach the Adelaide final. After losing the first set, Keys bounced back in the second as she broke Gauff twice to force a decider. Gauff recovered from a break down in the third set but Keys claimed her second break of the set in the 12th game to book a three-set win. “Coco is a phenomenal player,” Keys said, per the WTA website. “I knew I was going to have to play some of my best tennis.
