Former 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert thinks Alexander Zverev deserved a sronger punishment for his Acapulco outburst. During an Acapulco doubles match, Zverev started hurling obscenities and called the chair umpire an “idiot.” After he and Marcelo Melo lost their doubles match, Zverev slammed his racket multiple times on the umpire’s chair. Zverev was disqualified from the Acapulco singles event, fined $40,000 and stripped of the prize money and ranking points earned at the tournament.
