Upsets rocked play on Thursday at the Miami Open. The slew of upsets also included the top seed, Aryna Sabalenka, third seed, Anett Kontaveit and sixth seed, Karolina Pliskova all lost their respective openers. In the last match of the day, Irina-Camelia Begu ousted Sabalenka, the world no.3 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 41 minutes in their second-round clash. The Romanian had just eight winners to Sabalenka’s 26 but also had just seven unforced errors to the higher-ranked player’s 34.Begu saved all six break points she faced while converting two of the four break points, she had on Sabalenka’s serve. For a place in the fourth round, Begu will take on Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Sasnovich also posted an upset of her own, defeating 25th seed Daria Kasatkina, 7-6(5), 6-4 in their round-of-64 meeting.Miami …
