Warrington defeated Kiko Martinez on Saturday night
Josh Warrington broke his jaw in his spectacular world title seventh-round victory over Kiko Martinez, promoter Eddie Hearn said.

The 31-year-old was victorious in front of his hometown Leeds crowd at the First Direct Arena and secured his first victory since 2019.
The two-time world champion endured a difficult 2021, in which he lost and drew to Mexican fighter Mauricio Lara.

Warrington was taken to hospital after the fight

While Martinez suffered cuts above both eyes and on his forehead, it was Warrington who was taken immediately to hospital after the bout with a suspected broken hand and fractured jaw.
Now, Hearn has confirmed that Warrington suffered a clean break of his jaw – sharing an x-ray image of the crack on social media at 3.50am.
He wrote: “Confirmed from the hospital @J_Warrington clean break of his jaw prior to stopping Kiko Martinez to win the world title tonight.”
