Manchester United are understood to have secured Bruno Fernandes to a new contract, tying him to the club for another five years and handing a handsome wages rise in the process.United are preparing for what is likely to be the most important summer in their history. They are currently interviewing for another new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag the main candidates. Whoever gets the job will be their fifth permanent boss since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.
And the new man will be given a steep mission – to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.
