World No. 6 Paula Badosa revealed an illness forced her to retire after just 20 minutes into her Miami Masters quarterfinal against Jessica Pegula. Pegula, seeded at No. 16, had a 4-1 lead in the first set when Badosa decided to retire the match. Badosa broke Pegula in the opening game of the match but the American responded with back-to-back breaks as she won four consecutive games to take a 4-1 lead. “So sorry I had to retire today.
