Jamie Redknapp is not convinced that ‘serial underachiever’ Mauricio Pochettino is the best man to fix Manchester United’s problems and bring back the Old Trafford glory days.The Red Devils will appoint a new permanent boss this summer when Ralf Rangnick’s interim tenure comes to an end, with Pochettino and Ajax chief Erik ten Hag the known frontrunners – having already been interviewed for the role.
Indeed, United have now learned how much it will cost them to get Ten Tag out of his Ajax contract.
Rangnick could only guide United to a drab 1-1 draw with Leicester on Saturday. That results leaves the club’s hopes of sealing a top-four finish looking less and less likely.
