Ralf Rangnick has labelled Erik ten Hag a “top coach”, but refused to comment further as Manchester United chase the Ajax boss.Rangnick is currently in interim charge at Old Trafford following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November. As a result, United have been working in recent weeks to find a long-term successor.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino initially emerged as a frontrunner.
However, Dutchman Ten Hag is now the favourite to take over. In fact, United are reportedly closing in on finalising a first move to the Premier League for the 52-year-old.
The latter development saw Rangnick face questions on the situation ahead of Saturday’s clash with Everton.
