Sligo knocked reigning champions Roscommon out of the Connacht under-20 Championship on Wednesday evening with a dramatic one-point win in Markievicz Park.
Eoghan Smith claimed the winning score in injury-time as the Yeats men punished a wasteful Roscommon to book a final date against Mayo.
Dessie Sloyan’s side were five points down at one stage in the opening half – Jack Tumulty hit a couple of lovely points early on, before Adam McDermott was on hand to finish to the net after Oisín Cregg’s initial effort was brilliantly saved.
But Lee Duignan’s late first-half penalty – won by captain Jack Lavin – helped bring Sligo level by the break.
