Chelsea are hurtling towards a transfer ‘calamity’ after a report revealed a shock move made by Mason Mount has greatly increased the chances of a transfer to Liverpool, Man Utd or Newcastle.
Negotiations over Mount extending his stay at Stamford Bridge recently reached a ‘stalemate’, per the Telegraph. Mount compares favourably to Premier League legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard through the age of 25, though the Blues don’t appear to rate their homegrown star all that highly.
Indeed, the Telegraph’s Matt Law reported Mount is not seeking the biggest pay packet possible, and instead only wants to be suitably rewarded for what he feels has been stellar service to the club so far.
However, unlike a new deal for fellow homegrown star Reece James that was straightforward, discussions with Mount have stuttered and stalled.
