Matt Doherty is going to have to find a new club just six months after Tottenham Hotspur severed their ties with him, a report has revealed.
Tottenham released Doherty at the end of the January transfer window after initially planning to loan him out to Atletico Madrid. The problem was that they already had too many players out on loan, so his contract was instead terminated to tee up a free transfer.
However, things haven’t gone to plan for Doherty after his surprise Spanish switch, which at the time he described as a “no-brainer”.
