London Irish players and staff are still awaiting payment for April

London Irish players and staff are still awaiting their April pay, head coach Declan Kidney has confirmed.
Players were originally told that they would be paid on Tuesday but they are still awaiting payment on Thursday morning as the club moves through a takeover from an American consortium.

Ahead of the side’s fixture with Exeter on Saturday, Kidney admitted that there is a “sensitive” situation ongoing at the club but they have received “assurances” payment should arrive this week.

“I’m just telling you know what I know,” Kidney said.
“Sensitive negotiations are going on at the moment.
“Pay day has ended up in the middle of that
“No employee has been paid yet but we’ve given a lot of assurances from the prospective ownership that will happen over the coming days.”
Kidney also confirmed their game with Exeter will definitely go ahead and “preparations are in full swing”.
Kidney said all insurance premiums had been covered, removing one possible roadblock to the fixture taking place, but he was unable to shine a light on when things could be expected to reach a conclusio …
