Jake Paul has claimed his crossover boxing match with Nate Diaz did over 500,000 PPV buys in the US.

UFC legend Diaz stepped into the ring for the first time to take on YouTuber-turned boxer Paul earlier this month in Texas, and it was the younger Paul who came out on top, scoring a knockdown on his way to a unanimous points victory.

Paul was delighted to get back to winning ways after losing to Tommy Fury in February, and revealed the clash was a major financial success as well.

‘It’s looking like 500K-plus pay-per-views, biggest gate, and that’s US pay-per-views,’ he said on BS w/ Jake Paul.

‘So, it means more because it costs more in the US, so massive numbers, massive success.

He has claimed the crossover fight generated over 500,000 PPV buys in the US

‘There’s statistics that show the Google searches from that night, we were number one most searched Google trend by ten times, trending everywhere, biggest gate, biggest ticket sales, biggest sponsorship.’

If those numbers are correct, they would support Paul’s previous claims that he is one of the biggest stars in boxing.

His fight with Fury also generated upwards of half a million PPV buys, and very few in the sport can compete with these figures.

It is a huge turnaround from his rematch with another UFC star, Tyron Woodley, in December 2021 that had just 65,000 PPV buys.

Paul’s PPV numbers would fall short of the most popular boxing events this year, though, as Gervonta Davis’ fight with Ryan Garcia reportedly generated 1.2million PPV buys, while Terence Crawford’s undisputed clash with Errol Spence had 650,000 PPV buys, according to reports.

The fight with Diaz has received some criticism, with promoter Eddie Hearn describing it as ‘awful’, but Paul is unlikely to care after earning another big pay check.

Paul is targeting a grudge match with fellow YouTuber KSI or a shot at redemption against Fury next, with either fight likely to gain huge public attention once again.
