Good evening!

That’s all from us tonight, thanks for following and we hope you enjoyed what was a dramatic night for British boxing from the AO Arena in Manchester.

00:25

Eubank calls out Conor Benn and Kell Brook

‘Now we’re onto bigger and better fights.

‘There’s some big names out there I see a few of these guys in the crowd I’m coming for you I’m coming for you Conor [Benn] I’m coming for you Kell [Brook] anybody else who wants it, we’re gonna put a show on for the fans that’s for sure.’

00:23

Eubank on what was different from the first fight

‘Listen, I’m not going to lie what happened tonight was supposed to happen in January.

‘Like I said it wasn’t my night, I trained hard for that fight and I trained hard for this fight. The focus is always there I dedicate my life to the sport.’

00:19

Chris Eubank on his performance post-fight

‘It had to be. I had no other choice there’s too many other big fights out there for me that the fans want to see and I want to be involved in.

‘I had to beat Liam tonight. You know I threw so many punches the lettering on my shorts fell off, it was incredible.

‘Listen, Liam is a warrior. I respect him. I respect his whole team and his family and his brothers. They always come out here and put it all on the line. He didn’t give up and he fought until the last second so big up to Liam and his team.’

REPORT: Chris Eubank Jr exacts revenge against Liam Smith in their rematch

Chris Eubank Jr dramatically beat bitter rival Liam Smith with a sensational 10th-round stoppage in their grudge rematch, avenging his loss to the Liverpudlian here seven months ago.

Eubank, 33, sent Smith crashing to the canvas after one minute and 45 seconds of round 10 of a fight he largely dominated from start to finish with a stunning display of cool, calm and controlled boxing.

Eubank’s tactics were outstanding and this consummately professional, ruthlessly efficient and clinical display showed him at his very best.

The official time of the finish is 1:45 of round 10.

Eubank dominated from the opening bell and proved that he still has what it takes to hang with the best British boxing has to offer.

There will be questions about Smith’s ankle but you really cannot take anything away from a performance that was as good as Eubank has ever produced inside the ring.

23:40

IT’S OVER! CHRIS EUBANK WINS BY 10TH ROUND TKO

Analysis between rounds seems to show Smith having an issue with his ankle.

The issue is seemingly confirmed at the start of this round as he appears unsteady with Eubank landing at will.

Smith is down again!

Eubank flurries against the ropes and Smith is on the canvas for the second time in the fight but recovers to beat the count.

IT’S OVER!!!

Eubank presses the advantage and while a lot of the shots aren’t landing cleaning, Smith is offering nothing back and the referee calls the fight off! Chris Eubank has his revenge!

23:38

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 9

That’s better from Smith! The pair exchange punches in the centre of the ring with Smith answering back in a way he hasn’t really done this evening.

Eubank is still the faster fighter, and he needs to avoid getting complacent because Smith still carries power if he is able to land.

A strong combination from Eubank closes out the round, and Smith will need to land something massive in the championship rounds if he is going to have any hope of repeating his success from earlier this year.

Mail Sport score: Smith 80 – 90 Eubank Jr

23:33

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 8

Smith is marching forward now but doesn’t seem to have Eubank’s respect, as he repeatedly gets caught moving forward.

A solid left to the body is followed up by a strong jab from Eubank.

Smith is holding the centre of the ring but the activity just isn’t there. Eubank is no longer falling into clinches and is now repeatedly landing in combination to the body and head.

Mail Sport score: Smith 71 – 80 Eubank Jr

23:30

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 7

Smith starts strong with a good jab but Eubank is doing the far better work in combination as we pass the midway point of this fight.

Eubank’s work with his lead hand has been excellent thus far, he connects with a strong hook to the body then lances Smith backward with an inch-perfect double jab.

Smith is being hesitant at range here and he is being punished.

Some words exchanged between the fights at the bell but this fight has been completely one-way traffic as we head into round 8.

Mail Sport score: Smith 62 – 70 Eubank Jr

23:25

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 6

The Smith corner tells him that he needs to fire back as we enter the sixth.

So far Smith has been repeatedly tagged by Eubank’s uppercut and doesn’t seem able to offer anything in return.

There were fears that Eubank may have punched himself out with the flurry in the start of the previous round but he looks fresh here.

Better from Smith as he lands a right hand but he is going to need a lot more if he is going to work his way back into this contest.

Smith maintains his pressure as the round enters its final minute. This is his best sequence of the fight thus far but he is still finding himself on the back foot as Eubank marches forward looking for that uppercut.

Mail Sport score: Smith 53 – 60 Eubank Jr

23:21

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 5

Eubank is piling the pressuring on here and he cannot miss as Smith is peppered against the ropes.

Smith is moving his head well but nothing at all is coming back at this point and the referee is taking a very close look.

We return to the centre of the ring, but again Eubank seemingly cannot miss with the uppercuts – Smith needs to do something to regain control of this fight.

Eubank has expended a lot of energy looking for the finish in this round, but can Smith land the kind of shot that would change the momentum of the fight?

Mail Sport score: Smith 44 – 50 Eubank Jr

23:17

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 4

We enter the round that proved so decisive in January.

Eubank starts very strong again and SMITH IS DOWN!!

An uppercut drops the former world champion and he gets a moment of respite as the referee makes his corner put his gumshield back in.

This is a massive round for Eubank, the same uppercut that he enjoyed so much success with in the first fight is again paying dividends as he wobbles Smith once more!

Smith narrowly avoids another big shot, but is now finding himself repeatedly on the end of Eubank’s jab and is struggling to offer anything of significance in return.

Mail Sport score: Smith 35 – 40 Eubank Jr

23:14

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 3

Eubank is active again at the start of this round, but his four-punch combo is blocked well by Smith.

Again Eubank is falling into clinches after punching at range and the pair trade shots inside the clinch.

The activity levels are increasing from Eubank but Smith’s defence is staying strong as the enter the final minute of round three.

Eubank follows an uppercut with a left to the body; Smith still seems content to continue working his way into the fight though it must be said he is likely down three rounds.

Mail Sport score: Smith 27 – 30 Eubank Jr

23:09

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 2

Eubank begins with a jab and Smith answers with a right but looks to have overcommitted before resetting his feet.

The pair again meet in the clinch, with dirty boxing on both sides again requiring the intervention of the referee.

Eubank is working well behind his jab when they seperate with Smith seemingly content to continue settling into the fight at this early stage.

Smith goes down at the end of the round but it was push from Eubank and the bell rings.

Mail Sport score: Smith 18 – 20 Eubank Jr

23:05

Smith vs Eubank Jr – ROUND 1

The wait is over!

The bell rings and the action is underway at the Manchester Arena, with tonight’s headline clash scheduled for twelve rounds in the middleweight division.

Smith pushes Eubank towards the ropes in the clinch and tries to land an uppercut inside but is unable to.

The pair meet again in the middle and the referee calls for a clean break.

Eubank lands a short right hand inside and the referee has a word with both fighters as the action again leads to a clinch.

This round could have gone either way but Eubank just edged it on activity.

Mail Sport score: Smith 9 – 10 Eubank Jr

22:59

THE MAIN EVENT IS HERE!

Eubank is subjected to jeers as he makes his way to the ring and even cocks both ears to the crowd to wind up his detractors.

Smith, by contrast, enjoys a more favourable reception and as he seeks to beat Eubank for the second time this year in Manchester…

22:55

Smith makes his way to ring…

Liam Smith meanwhile is met with a much more positive response from the fans in attendance as he makes his way to ring to fellow Liverpudlian Jamie Webster’s This Place.

The former world champion has stated repeatedly in the lead-up to tonight that he still has ambitions on capturing the gold once more, and victory tonight would surely put him in contention of a title shot.

22:52

Eubank Jnr is here!

Chris Eubank Jr’s name is met with a chorus of boos as he prepares to make his way down to the ring while a compilation of his highlights plays.

Dr Dre’s classic Still D.R.E as the 33-year-old walks out from the rafters and attempts to avenge his KO defeat from January.

Another defeat tonight would be devastating for Eubank’s career but he appears confident as he hops over the top rope into the ring and shadowboxes before tonight’s headline clash.

22:41

The atmosphere is electric!

The atmosphere is reaching fever pitch now ahead of the main event…

Don’t You Want Me by The Human League, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and the Oasis classic Don’t Look Back In Anger were played over the public address system and the crowd have joined in a mass singalong.

Smith and Eubank now just minutes from their ringwalks…

22:31

BEN SHALOM: Chris Eubank Jr has always been targeted for taking the easy option… this rematch is anything but

Both Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr know one thing: they have to keep winning to stay at the top, to be in the Box Office events, and to be headlining shows. Because it can a long journey back and neither has that time.

What unfolded back in January was shocking. Not the result, but the way it happened.

The atmosphere that night was one of the best I’ve ever witnessed and I expect the same on Saturday. There is even more anticipation this time round. Now people know it can go both ways.

Azim wins!

Adam Azim wins!

The 21-year-old wins a unanimous decision (100-90, 99-91, 98-92) to become the new WBA intercontinental super lightweight champion.

The lopsided judges’ scorecards belie just how tough a challenge Fanyan proved to be for the Azim, but he rallied well as the fight progressed and will have earned some valuable experience as his undefeated record stretches to nine fights.

In his post-fight interview, Azim dedicates his win to his late grandad and sets his sights on capturing European gold next.

22:19

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 10

It’s been a good competitive fight here, but Azim has just started to pull ahead in these later rounds.

Perhaps realising this Fanyan starts aggressively wading forward but is repelled back by a 1-2 from the 21-year-old.

Azim is starting to dig the body with his left hook, and comes close to landing one to the head but Fanyan evades well.

Fanyan is again pressured backwards but remains primed attempting to land that counter when Azim goes to work.

The final bell rings and we’re going to the judges!

Mail Sport score: Azim 97 – 93 Fanyan

22:14

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 9

We approach the penultimate round of tonight’s action.

Was Fanyan just resting in round 8, or can Azim press his advantage here?

The Ukrainian is still looking for his left hook but appears much of the sting it contained earlier in the contest has dissipated,

Azim is controlling the action here but he must stay aware of the threats his opponent can pose.

Another 1-2 moving towards the ropes but Fanyan again responds with a lead hand as both fighters are warned for head clashing.

Mail Sport score: Azim 87 – 84 Fanyan

22:11

Stars in attendance

A star-studded audience included Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker, who fought out a titanic encounter here in December 2021 when the latter won to retain his WBO intercontinental heavyweight title.

Old adversaries Amir Khan and Kell Brook even conducted a joint interview at ringside prior to the main event in a show of mutual respect. It was the first time they had crossed paths since they fought here in February 2022, when former world champion Khan suffered a stoppage loss to Brook and subsequently retired.

Ex-world heavyweight champion David Haye and England footballers Jordan Pickford, John Stones and Conor Coady were also in the VIP seats.

22:10

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 8

Azim begins the eighth round working behind his jab and again manages to work his opponent towards the ropes, this is much better work from the young fighter.

Fanyan is trying to fire back with his left hook but the momentum of then fight definitely seems to be swinging towards the Brit at this point.

Azim is picking his shots and working the body as Fanyan retreats towards the ropes before momentarily jabbing his way out.

Another 1-2 against the ropes from Azim as he is enjoying the most dominant round of the fight thus far, but can he capitalise on the momentum?

Mail Sport score: Azim 77 – 75 Fanyan

22:06

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 7

Just four rounds remaining here as Azim takes the centre of the ring.

Fanyan drops his hands in the centre and again looks to land his leaping left hook, Azim is wise though and responds with a 1-2 that is blocked.

There’s not much to separate these two so far, but Azim is starting to enjoy more success when he can walk Fanyan back towards the ropes.

Mail Sport score: Azim 67 – 66 Fanyan

22:02

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 6

We reach the midway point of the fight and Fanyan is proving to be a stern test for Azim thus far.

He attempts an overhand right but Azim manages to get out of the way.

Fanyan is willed on by his corner as he again lunges forward attempting to rock Azim’s head back with the left hook.

Azim jabs well to the body but again he is largely being restricted to picking away with isolated shots here due to the evasiveness of Fanyan.

Mail Sport score: Azim 57 – 57 Fanyan

21:58

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 5

Azim continues to try and time a counter right hand behind the consistent stream of left hooks from the Ukrainian but has so far been unable.

Fanyan is maintaining distance well and slips just out of the way of a right straight from Azim.

Mail Sport score: Azim 48 – 47 Fanyan

21:54

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 4

Fanyan is growing in confidence as this fight progresses, and he counters well as Azim steps in looking to land a one two.

The movement from Azim is crucial here as Fanyan is throwing his left with bad intentions and he appears prepared to step in in order to do so.

Strong jab from Azim as Fanyan moves onto the front foot and the pair trade punches in the centre of the ring.

Mail Sport score: Azim 38 – 38 Fanyan

21:50

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 3

Azim attempts a left hook of his own but misses by some distance; Fanyan is showing some good movement defensively here.

The wide stance of Azim is allowing him to jab from distance here but he is yet to really involve his right hand in combination.

Fanyan moves forward with a jab left hook as he continues to be the aggressor and then lands another left as the pair exchange.

Azim knew the Ukrainian presented a serious challenge and he just needs to be aware of what Fanyan is attempting to do here…

Mail Sport score: Azim 28 – 29 Fanyan

21:46

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 2

Fanyan starts aggressively, spurred on by the success he enjoyed with the left hook in the opening round.

Azim is moving well on the back foot; working behind his jab and moving his head well thus far.

Fanyan darts in to jab to the body, but Azim responds with a jab of his own but is unable to follow up with a right hand behind it.

The Ukranian is really hunting for the left hook but is landing it with less frequency now.

Mail Sport score: Azim 19 – 19 Fanyan

21:43

Azim vs Fanyan – ROUND 1

Tonight’s chief support gets underway with Azim wearing the pink trunks with white trim and Fanyan in the black with gold.

Azim has been touted as one of the brightest talents in British boxing, and his fan-friendly style is bound to get the fans at the Manchester Arena on their feet this evening.

21:10

It’s over! Allen retires between rounds!

David Allen is complaining about an issue with his jaw and the referee waves the fight off!

Frazer Clarke maintains his undefeated start to his pro career and records another stoppage but it must be said his performance failed to live up to expectations.

The former Olympian was solid throughout but his tendency to stray low with his body shots is a habit he will need to address going forward if he is going to move towards the elite level.

21:08

Clarke vs Allen – ROUND 6

Another low blow at the start of the sixth and the referee is going to take a point.

Allen has five minutes to recover but he elects to get right back into the action and AGAIN Clarke hits low.

It’s another point deducted!

Following the repeated fouls Clarke is starting to get more active here, and is landing some of his best work of the fight thus far.

But again he hits low!

The referee elects not to take a third point and Clarke lands a strong 1-2 followed by an uppercut inside as they re-engage.

The exchanges are beginning to get significantly more explosive, and Clarke lands another big right hand before the end of the round.

Nice left-hand right uppercut on the oncoming Allen, Clarke is really starting to find his timing with this shot as we approach the midpoint of the fight.

Clarke attempts to follow up with another body shot but his hook hits low, and Allen is given time to recover.

Mail Sport score: Clarke 50 – 45 Allen

Clarke lands a right to the body that appeared to land on the belt line before following it up with a strong uppercut as the pair begin to clinch more frequently.

For the second time Allen manages to time his unorthodox overhand right before falling into a clinch.

Better from Allen here but he still is lacking in overall activity as we head into the fifth round.

Mail Sport score: Clarke 40 – 36 Allen

20:54

Clarke vs Allen – ROUND 3

Allen takes the centre of the ring and lands an overhand right from the bell. His experience is showing as he controls the positioning.

Clarke is landing more frequently now but he’s yet to draw much of a reaction out of Allen with any of his shots.

Mail Sport score: Clarke 20 – 18 Allen

20:46

Clarke vs Allen – ROUND 1

Clarke is clearly the bigger of the two fighters as they meet to touch gloves, and the bell rings to get us underway.

A tentative start but Clarke lands the first good shot with a strong jab and follows it up with a right hand as Allen retreats.

Clarke lands a right to the body in his first attempt at varying his target and the pair engage in some work in the clinch before separating. Not an awful lot to score here but Clarke was the busier man.

Mail Sport Score: Clarke 10-9 Allen

20:39

Tonight’s heavyweight clash is upon us…

Frazer Clarke making his way into the ring as he looks to extend his professional record to 8-0 at the Manchester Arena.

Dave Allen will attempt to halt the Olympian’s momentum over ten rounds this evening, but the pertinent question is which version of the White Rhino will be on display?

If the version of Allen the KO’d former world champion Lucas Browne in 2019 shows up, we could be in for a very interesting clash indeed…

20:33

What time is Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jnr 2 and how can you watch it?

Frazer Clarke vs David Allen

One of the most decorated amateur heavyweights in the history of British boxing, Clarke has amassed a perfect 7-0 record since turning pro in in February of last year.

Clarke has five knockouts and most recently defeated former world title title Mariusz Wach at York Hall in June, but at 32-years-old he will be looking to quickly ascend up the ranks by continuing his momentum with a big victory tonight.

Allen meanwhile has scored three victories against low-level opposition since coming out of retirement two years ago. The White Rhino is a significant underdog in the eyes of the bookies, but he possesses strong finishing instincts and will likely look to kill or be killed as he aims to provide a stern test.
