The action is far from over at the Asian Games for the Indian contingent. The Indian football teams – both men’s and women’s – will be in action. Indian men’s team faces Bangladesh at 1:30 PM.  

A cricket match against Malaysia was always going to be a lop-sided contest in favour of India. They dominated the proceedings in the rain-affected match. Shafali Verma scored a stroke-filled 67 while Jemimah Rodrigues scored 47* as India notched a massive 173/2 in 15 overs. Malaysia could bat for only two balls before rain ended their hopes.

That’s a dampener. The India vs Malaysia quarter-final has been abandoned due to persistent rain. But Indian fans can cheer as the team has entered the semi-finals on the basis of higher seeding. They are just one win away from assuring themselves a place in the semi-finals.

Cricket action has resumed after a lengthy rain delay. In the 15 overs-a-side contest, Shafali Verma has picked up from where she left and is dealing in boundaries. If she continues this way, it is going to be quite a hard task for Malaysia! India have crossed 75 in 7 overs!
