The Indian women’s cricket team has dealt with several losses in the knockout stage in the recent past. Last year’s Commonwealth Games and the T20 World Cup semi-final defeat earlier this year, hit them hard. Today also, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team could score only 116 runs in the first innings. But then the bowlers stepped up the game with Titas Sidhu taking three wickets, as India won by 19 runs.

And history has been made! India have thumped Sri Lanka by 19 runs to bring home the gold medal. This is India’s first ever gold medal in cricket at the Asian games! 

India look almost set to win the women’s cricket gold medal. They have taken the sixth Sri Lankan wicket. Sri Lanka need 29 runs in 11 balls.

Hasini Perera, who was going great with some big shots, has been dismissed by Gayakwad. India are nnow six wickets away from clinching the gold medal!

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have made a poor start to the 117-run chase against India in the final of the women’s cricket. Titas Sadhu has taken three Sri Lankan wickets.

The 2nd seed duo of Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni dominated the court, defeating David Susanto and Ignatius A. Susanto from Indonesia with a commanding score of 6-3, 6-2. With this impressive victory, they’re onto the quarterfinals.

India’s Garima Chaudhary’s campaign ends as she loses in the Round of 16 of Judo. Chaudhary lost against Ryoko Salinas of Philippines. 

India’s Balraj Panwar finishes fourth in rowing men’s single sculls event. He recorded a time of 7:08.79s. The gold medal has been won by China’s Zhang Liang with a time of 6:57.06. Japan’s Ryuta Arakawa won the silver with a time of 6:59.79s

India’s Vijayveer Sidhu has entered the final of 25m men’s Rapid Fire Pistol individual event. He finished at sixth place with a total of 582 points. Apart from him, Adarsh Singh finished 14th with 576 and Anish Bhanwala finished 21st with 560. The final will be held at 11:30 AM. 

BRONZE!!! After clinching the gold in 10m men’s rifle event, Team India has now bagged away the bronze medal in 25m men’s Rapid Fire Pistol. The team, which features Vijayveer Sidhu, Anish and Adarsh Singh, scored 1718 points. 

India’s Rutuja Bhosale enters the Round of 16 in tennis women’s singles event. She defeated Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Sagandykova 7-6 (2), 6-2.

Bronze!!! Another medal for India as Aishwary Tomar bags away the bronze medal in men’s 10m air rifle final in the individual event with 228.8 points. The gold medal has been won by China’s Sheng Lihao, who also broke the world record with 253.3 points. Hajun Park of South Korea won silver with 251.3 points.

Another medal has been assured for India as Rudrankksh Patil and Aishwary Tomar are in the Top Four in the men’s 10m air rifle final. Tomar is third with 188.0 points while Patil is fourth with 187.4 points. 

Indian Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay team has entered the finals. The team featuring of Aryan Nehra, Aneesh Gowda, Kushagra Rawat, and Mathew Tanish George finish fourth in Heat 2, with a time of 7:39.04s. 

The Indian women’s rugby faced a disappointing 0-15 defeat against Singapore in the Pool F match. This is their third consecutive defeat in Hangzhou. 

Aishwary Tomar scores 104.5 points and takes the third place after 10 shots. On the other hand, Rudrankksh Patil takes the fifth place with 104.2 points.

India’s Likith Selvaraj Prema by clocking 1:01.98 seconds, Prema finished fourth in Heat 3. The medal event will take place later in the day.

BRONZE!!!! India get another bronze medal in men’s quadruple sculls. Team India, who featured of Satnam singh, Parminder Singh, Jakar Khan, Sukhmeet Singh, recorded a time of 6:08:61. The gold medal has been bagged by China, who clocked 6:02.65 while Uzbekistan won the silver with a time of 6:04.64. 

India’s Ankita Raina enters the Round of 16 of tennis women’s singles event. She defeated Uzbekistan’s Sabrina Olimjonova 6-0, 6-0. She will now be going up against the winner of the match between Hong Kong’s Patali Karunaratne and Macau’s Si Nong Iu. 

India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan receives a walkover in tennis men’s singles event at the Asian Games. He gets the walkover in the second round match against Tajikistan’s Sunatullo Isroilov. With this, he has now qualified for the Round of 16, where he will face the winner of the match between Qatar’s Mubarak Al Harrasi and second seed from Japan Yosuke Watanuki. 

India’s Dhinidhi Desinghu finishes 4th in the first heat of Women’s 200m Freestyle swimming. Desinghu is also the youngest Indian athlete in the tournament. 

As only two shooters from a country can qualify for the final, Divyansh fails to enter the final of 10m air rifle event. Islam Satpayev of Kazakhstan has made it to the finals.
