Conor McGregor claims he is no longer interested in fighting KSI after calling out the YouTube star to a bare-knuckle boxing bout following Anthony Joshua’s most recent outing against Robert Helenius.

AJ continued his climb back to boxing’s top table in August with a seventh-round knockout victory over the Finnish puncher at the O2 Arena, London.

As is always the case with any Joshua fight night, the stars turned out to watch him do his thing.

Among them were McGregor and KSI, whose names hadn’t been mentioned in the same sentence before that night.

KSI is is 5-0-1 with 1 NC as a boxer and faces Tommy Fury next on October 14 in Manchester

But that would all change when McGregor stormed the ring and called for a fight with the content creator in the immediate aftermath of Joshua’s victory.

‘I know your man KSI is in the crowd, and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg boxing factory,’ he said.

‘So, if he wants to get in here, I’ll give him a final yoke, bare-knuckle if you want.’

KSI had left the arena by the time McGregor took to the mic but the message quickly got back to him as excitement began to build.

However, the Irishman has since rescinded his offer and claims the call-out was never serious.

McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021

‘Ah he was there, it was just a bit of craic,’ McGregor told Mirror Fighting when asked why he had called out KSI. ‘I’m not interested.’

KSI is set to face Tommy Fury on October 14 in one of the most hotly anticipated influencer boxing bouts of all time.

Meanwhile, McGregor is aiming to return to the UFC Octagon against Michael Chandler at some point next year.

‘Notorious’ must complete six months’ worth of random drug testing with the UFC’s official anti-doping partner, USADA, before he is cleared to fight.

At the time of writing, he is still yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool.
