Asian Games 2023 Day 13 Live Updates: India vs Japan Hockey Final On, Wrestler Kiran Wins Bronze

The first quarter of the men’s hockey final between India and Japan is on. The Indian players are trying to control the midfield. Abhishek has been very active. The japanese have relied on counter-attacks. 

Mongolia’s Ariunjargal Ganbat has been comfortably defeated by Kiran in a Bronze Medal Match. That is medal no. 92 for India. 

The hockey final is the biggest event for India in  the afternoon session of the Asian Games 2023 Day 13. A win will not only give India a gold medal but also a direct qualification for the Olympics.

India take on Japan in the men’s hockey final. The match starts at 4 PM IST later today

India’s Sonam wins bronze in Women’s 62kg Freestyle after beating China’s Jia Long. 

Afghanistan stun Pakistan in the second semi-final of the men’s cricket event. They will now take on India in the final on Saturday. Gulbadin Naib with a grand finish in the chase for Afghanistan.

Afghanistan are four runs away from putting Pakistan out of the gold medal match. As it stands, they will play India in the final.

India’s Aniket Patel beat Vietnam’s Nhat Quang Nguyen 4-0 in the Soft Tennis Men’s Group F match. Jay Meena, on the other hand, defeated Chinese Taipei’s Chen Yu Hsun 4-2 in a Group A match.

India lose to Hong Kong in Bridge Men’s Team Final Session 5. Hong Kong have 212.1 points from 80 boards whereas India has 140 points.

India lose to Thailand 0-2 but bow out with historic bronze medal in Sepaktakraw women’s regu event. 

India hammer Pakistan 61-14 in men’s Kabaddi semi-final. They will face the winner of the other semifinal between Iran and Chinese Taipei.

India’s Atamu, Dhiraj and Tushar are through to the final of the men’s recurve team final after beating Bangladesh 5-3 in the semi-final. Bangladesh put up a strong fight with a couple of 30s.

India lead Bangladesh 4-2 in the archery men’s recurve team event semi-final. 

In Ladies Artistic Single Free Skating event, India’s Greeshma Dontara finishes fourth with a score of 20.94, while Sai Samhitha Akula finishes 6th with a score of 16.95

India head into the break with a 30-5 advantage against Pakistan in the men’s Kabaddi semi-final. Pakistan started strongly with 4-0 lead in the early exchanges. But India showed why they are the favourites to win the gold medal

This turning out to be cakewalk for the Indian team. A 22-5 lead over Pakistan in the semi-final. Naveen has been a menace so far for India.

Pakistan lead India in these early exchanges of the men’s kabaddi semi-final. Indian raider Naveen does manage to get a point but Pakistan lead 4-1.

India’s Shikha Chouhan finished 6th in the Women’s Kayak Final with a time of 167.24 after accumulating a 60 second penalty.

With 36 points in 28 climbs, Aman Verma finished 7th in the Sport Climbing Lead semifinal. Meanwhile, Bharath Pereira stood 15th with 16 points from 19 climbs

India beat Mongolia 5-4 after shoot-off to reach the semi-final of the men’s recurve team event.

India’s HS Prannoy loses in straight games to China’s Li Shifeng (16-21, 9-21). He bows out with a bronze medal.

This is turning out to be a cakewalk for Li Shifeng as he opens up a five point gap over HS Prannoy. The Chinese leads 11-6 in the second game.

India’s Vishal Kewat finishes seventh in men’s Canoe Slalom event with a timing of 191.12.

India’s Atanu Das, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Tushar Shelke are in action against Mongolia in men’s team recurve quarter-final.

Li Shifeng on a roll as he takes a four point lead before wrapping up the first game 21-16 against Prannoy, who was in lead at the halfway mark of this first game.

Prannoy continues to take the risks with his shots but it’s Li who leads 18-15 in this first game. Li has already beaten the likes of Nishimoto and Indonesia’s Ginting.

Prannoy leads 8-6 against China’s Li Shifeng in the first game of the badminton men’s singles semi-final.

India’s HS Prannoy is taking on China’s Li Shifeng in badminton men’s semi-final. On Thursday, Prannoy overcame Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in a marathon quarter-final.

In Soft Tennis, India’s Aadhya Tiwari lost 1-4 to Chinese Taipei’s Shu Ting Lo in the Women’s Singles Group B match.

Bajrang Punia loses his Men’s Freestyle 65kg bout against Iran’s Rahman Amouzadkhalili by points (1-8). He will now fight for a bronze medal. 

Kiran concedes a 2-1 lead to go down in the Women’s Freestlye 76kg semi-final. She is off to the bronze medal match against the repechage winner

Heartbreak for Sonam in Women’s Freestlye 62kg semi-final bout. She goes down 0-7 to North Korea’s Hyongyong Mun 0-7 after a loss by fall. She’ll now have a chance to redeem herself with a bronze medal match against the winner of the repechage round.

India’s Aman Sehrawat lost the semifinal bout of the Men’s Freestyle 57kg category. He will now take on the winner of the repechage round in the bronze medal match
