Tommy Fury’s brother, Shane Fury, has admitted he though KSI would emerge victorious in the controversial Misfits bout on Saturday evening.

Tommy defeated arch rival KSI via majority decision – despite one judge adding up their scorecard wrong – following a lackluster fight at the Manchester Arena which saw few punches connect and plenty of grabbing.

Fury came out on top on three judges’ scorecards, triggering ecstatic scenes from his camp when the result was announced, with KSI fuming and launching a verbal attack on the decision on the mic after the result.

Many viewers were left shocked by the call, with it appearing KSI had got the better of the professional boxer, succeeding with more accurate punches than the former Love Island star.

That includes Shane, who told iFL TV that he was concerned over the final call after the bell.

Shane said his brother could have seen the result go the other way ‘because of who KSI is’

‘Listen, a good win, a bad performance. Tommy can do a lot better than that,’ he said. ‘He just needed to work on his jab a little bit more.

‘I thought Tommy was very lucky to get it with what he was up against. But listen, sometimes you can build something up in your mind that is not there. I thought they were going to give it to the other fella because of who he is, but Tommy won pretty much all rounds.

‘I thought they were going to rob him but the right man won. It was the best thing that could have happened, because he looks vulnerable for everyone else. The rematch is on the plate. Logan Paul will want him, Jake will want him, because he looks vulnerable.

‘The right man won but it could have gone the other way and been a bit of a robbery. No one could have complained because one man is a superstar and the other fella is a gypsy.’

Tommy appeared to claim after the fight that he was ‘done’ with crossover boxing – a statement Shane disagreed with

Tommy appeared to claim after the fight that he was ‘done’ with crossover boxing following victories over social media stars Jake Paul and KSI.

He appeared to backtrack on his words immediately after, and Shane agreed that his brother could be seen in Misfits once again going forwards.

‘I know my brother and he didn’t mean that,’ he said. ‘He’s done with all the swearing and dissing people. If anyone else wants a fight it’s going to be respectful, there’s no swearing.

‘I’ve been watching this and it’s the biggest load of s***. He’s done with that side of it. Let it be respectful next time. There are big fights too, but it will be different next time.’
