Tommy Fury’s dad John and brother Shane were among those criticising his performance despite a unanimous decision victory over KSI on Saturday.

Fury had a point deducted during the second round of the bout at the AO Arena in Manchester for punching KSI around the back of the head, but still won by a split decision at the time, which was later corrected after an error was spotted on one of the scorecards.

Despite the victory, Tommy was among those who admitted his own mistakes during the fight, and his family have also agreed with the criticism being aimed at his way following the KSI bout.

Speaking after the fight, as reported by YouTube Boxing Records on X (fka Twitter), Tommy’s father John said: ‘If KSI would have got the decision there would have been no qualms from me’.

Meanwhile, Shane blasted his brother by stating: ‘Tommy was very lucky to get it, he is beatable.

Tommy was ‘no better than a YouTuber’ during his victory, according to his brother Shane

‘It was a bad performance, looks vulnerable, looks no better than a Youtuber.’

As previously reported by Mail Sport, Shane was worried that KSI would be given the fight after the final bell – but was relieved to see his brother get the win.

He said: ‘Listen, a good win, a bad performance. Tommy can do a lot better than that. He just needed to work on his jab a little bit more.’

After the fight, Tommy admitted he was ‘useless’, but thankful for the win.

He said: ‘It was a scrappy affair. My dad called it two weeks ago and said it was going to be a messy fight.

‘It was a horrible fight, I’ve not even watched it back and I’m not sure I’ll want to watch it back because I was useless in there tonight but still got the win.

‘On a s*** performance, I still came out with a win.’

After being penalised for punching around the back of the head, Tommy complained that KSI was not punished for clinching throughout the fight.

‘I thought it was ridiculous,’ Tommy said. ‘In the professional fights, proper fights, you’re meant to have a couple of offences. The first time I did it, bang, a point off.

‘But he didn’t get a point off for holding all the fight. What’s that about?’
