Ebanie Bridges has thrown her hat in the ring to compete in Misfits Boxing after defending the influencer event following KSI’s defeat by Tommy Fury.

Fury, a professional boxer, went the full six rounds with the YouTube star at Manchester Arena, finishing narrowly ahead 57-56 on two judges’ scorecards with the third an erroneous 57-57 draw.

But the nature of the fight – a messy bout lacking the clean, technical boxing expected for high-profile events – saw the pair field heavy criticism from fans and pundits alike, particularly as punters were charged £19.99 to watch the fight on DAZN.

Carl Froch labelled the contest ‘absolute c**p’ and called for it to signal the end of influencer boxing, in which internet personalities fight each other or trained combat sports stars.

KSI reportedly earned £10million from the event organised by his promotional company, Misfits Boxing, and Bridges, 36, has defended the event and says that influencers are fully deserving of their pay.

KSI and Tommy Fury fielded heavy criticism for their slugfest on Saturday night

‘You all keep watching it, talking about it, promoting it, sharing it, good or bad this will keep it growing and making money,’ she posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘I feel like there is a lot more boxing casual fans than purests… and the casuals barely know the difference between good and bad boxing look at how many people thought McGregor could beat Mayweather.

‘The fact people actually debated that shows purests and traditional boxing fans are the minority NOT TO MENTION these events are PACKED from the first fight.

‘It ain’t purests filling those arenas out….you never see that in Pro boxing shows NEVER. So keep whinging and promoting it.’

Bridges clarified that influencer boxing does not provide the same quality of fighting as professional boxing, but insisted that fans should not expect to see a pugilistic masterclass.

‘You all complain like influencer boxing IS pro boxing… it’s not lol it’s a circus and it’s entertainment just like WWE stop comparing and expecting it to be like pro boxing that’s like asking MMA to be like pro boxing/

But Bridges defended the event and said she would happily compete on Misfits Boxing

‘Just let the guys make their money they ain’t fighting for WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO world titles or taking any ones money.

‘They are making money cos they are famous in their own right… got nothing to do with boxing skilll… people need to chill the f*** out. It’s embarrassing watching the boxing world complain.’

When asked by a fan whether she would consider fighting on a Misfits Boxing card, Bridges replied: ‘Might just do it after my next fight. What’s a couple mil to beat someone up that can’t box.’
