UFC legend Conor McGregor will sponsor boxing star Ebanie Bridges ahead of her highly-anticipated world title defence against fellow Australian Avril Mathie in December.

On Wednesday, McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout social media team made the relationship with the Blonde Bomber official, before the Irishman shared the exciting news with his 10.2 million X followers.

‘We are excited to officially partner with the one and only ‘Blonde Bomber’ IBF Bantamweight World Champion Ebanie Bridges on her road to undisputed on December 9th in San Francisco,’ the company wrote.

‘Exciting times Ahead. Let’s Go Ebanie! Forged Irish Stout, The Stout Of Real Champions.’

McGregor was also quick to comment on the post, referring to Bridges as ‘my girl’ in the replies.

Bridges accompanied McGregor to help promote his Forged Irish stout during Anthony Joshua’s fight against Robert Helenius in London, with the pair setting tongues wagging at the O2 Arena.

Bridges and McGregor were also pictured together at Katie Taylor’s fight in Dublin earlier this year, and the world champion revealed the Irishman is ‘fun, supportive and really positive’.

‘Conor’s team reached out to me and just asked me if I was going to the AJ fight and then if I was interested in collaborating,’ she told Lucky Block. ‘He is so caring and he just wants everyone to be okay.

‘He’s really caring and obviously he’s the life of the party, isn’t he? But while he’s doing all that, he’s definitely thinking of others around him and just making sure everyone’s okay, so that was probably something people don’t see.

‘He’s nice, fun, supportive and really, really positive.’

Bridges added that she ‘feels sorry’ for McGregor, one of the most scrutinised athletes in the world.

‘I do feel sorry for him in a sense, especially in public,’ she said. ‘There’s so much pressure and he could probably never just be Conor Mcgregor, like properly. Do you know what I mean?

‘Especially in public – I get that a little bit but not to his scale – all the security around him and always having to be careful what you say, it’s very extreme.’

Bridges’ title defence against Avril Mathie will take place on December 9 in San Francisco

Bridges’ showdown with Mathie will take place on December 9 at the Chase Center in San Francisco as part of the Devin Haney-Regis Prograis undercard.

The Aussie star is excited for the bout and is already calling it ‘the sexiest fight ever’.

Mathie, who won the Miss Swimsuit USA International beauty crown in 2014, has chalked up eight victories, one draw and one loss in her professional boxing career.

Bridges, who has a 9-1 professional record with four knockout victories, is expecting a tough bout against Mathie.

‘I know she will put up a big fight,’ Bridges told Daily Mail Australia.

‘She is super tough like all us Aussies – but I don’t think she has the power or strength to keep me off her for very long.

‘She is technically sound and has a big advantage with her height – and she has a great jab too – but I believe I’ll be able to take her range away with my style and strength.’

Bridges, who is known for her knockout power, is predicting a stoppage victory when the two meet in December.

‘I’d say a mid-rounds KO is very likely, but I’m training for the whole ten rounds and preparing for the best Avril,’ she said.
