Tyson Fury has undergone a remarkable body transformation to get himself into tip-top condition for his crossover clash with Francis Ngannou on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old has always joked about his weight, and recently opened up to Mail Sport about his ‘love handles’, but he looked particularly out of shape when he joined Ngannou on stage for their first press conference in early September.

As the pair went face-to-face for the first time, Fury whipped off his shirt and looked fleshy as he taunted Ngannou about being a ‘fat pig’.

However, with fight night just a matter of days away, the Gypsy King now looks a lot different, after admitting he has been ‘living like a monk’ in recent weeks.

As he spoke to TNT Sports on Wednesday evening, Fury once again removed his shirt, but this time looked trimmer as he flexed his muscles and shadow-boxed for the cameras.

Fury is a huge favourite to beat Ngannou, but does not appear to have got complacent based on the shape he has got into for their fight

Fury then insisted he was in prime condition, as he added: ‘That’s a man in shape. This man is fit for 25 rounds, non-stop.

He then exclaimed: ‘I’m an Adonis! I’m ready for a fight!’

Some have questioned how seriously Fury has taken his upcoming bout given that he is a huge favourite against a man who has never had a boxing match before.

But it appears Fury has trained as hard as ever to face the former UFC heavyweight champion.

Fury has also agreed to face Oleskandr Usyk in an undisputed fight that could take place on December 23.

That date is only just over eight weeks away, and Fury seems to be want to be in good shape heading into his next training camp, should he get past Ngannou with no issues on Saturday.

Fury’s career-heaviest weight came in October 2021 when he came in at 277lbs (19st 11lbs) for his back-and-forth fight with Deontay Wilder that eventually saw him triumph via 11th-round knockout.

He was nearer to the 19-stone mark for his fights against Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora last year, and it will be intriguing to see the number he hits on the scales at Friday’s weigh-in for the showdown with Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou may have hoped Fury would take his eye off the ball, but that doesn’t seem to have been the case
