Mike Tyson celebrated the New Year in typically lavish fashion as the boxing legend kicked back and relaxed at a swanky yacht party in St Barts.

Tyson, who still holds the record as the youngest world heavyweight champion in boxing history, could be seen chatting with some friends as he saw in 2024 on the French-speaking Caribbean island.

The 57-year-old seemed engrossed in conversation alongside his four pals before appearing to tuck into some food.

He is one of many celebrities to head to St Barts for their post-Christmas celebrations, with the likes of Michael Jordan, Jake Paul, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck also enjoying a New Year’s holiday on the island.

Tyson was most recently seen in the corner of MMA-turned-boxing star Francis Ngannou, masterminding the former UFC heavyweight champion’s breathtaking performance against his namesake Tyson Fury.

The former world heavyweight champion recently took on the role of a trainer in the sport

He is also a successful podcaster after launching the Hotboxin With Mike Tyson podcast

In a bout against a novice of the sport, Fury was expected to cruise to victory and retain his WBC title with ease out in Saudi Arabia, only for Ngannou to tear up the script by flooring the champion and controversially losing by split decision.

Many felt the MMA fighter had done enough to hand Fury his first professional defeat and complete one of the greatest upsets in sporting history, including his trainer.

‘The true champ of the evening,’ Tyson wrote on X after the fight alongside a photo of him and Ngannou together. ‘So proud how you performed’.

He also said on his Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast: ‘I’m proud of Francis Ngannou because he listened to everything I said, and I was telling everybody about the great left hook that he landed on his sparring partner and actually broke his leg.

‘I knew if he landed that left hook on anybody they were gone and I was right. The champ went down.

‘I’m happy. I’m very grateful to be involved with his glory, his victory. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of Mr. Francis.’

Tyson is likely to remain in Ngannou’s corner as he looks to continue his remarkable start in the boxing world, with a rematch against Fury and a showdown with Deontay Wilder recently mooted as potential options.
