Caroline Dubois has revealed how she goes into ‘killer mode’ in the lead up to her highly-anticipated bout with Miranda Reyes.
Dubois and Reyes will face off in a ten-round bout on the Joshua Buatsi vs Dan Azeez event this Saturday at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.
The victory will claim the vacant IBO women’s lightweight title and British star Dubois will be looking to extend her professional record to 9-0.
Ahead of the bout, the 23-year-old sat down with Sky Sports Editions to reveal how she’ll take on an ‘alter ego’ for the huge clash.
She said: ‘I think all people have an alter ego, anyone who’s performing you have to have that mode when you switch on.

‘You go into killer mode and its like, you mean business. I feel the switch happening. When I’m fighting I feel like I become that person I wish I could be outside the ring.’
Dubois’ last outing in the boxing ring came back in September 2023, where she secured a unanimous decision victory against Magali Rodriguez.
Reflecting on the win and her career as a whole, Dubois admitted that how she draws inspiration from being a role model in boxing for young girls.
‘I remember being a kid and going on Instagram and there for Clarissa Shields, Franchón Crews, Mikaela Mayer and Christina Cruz.
‘You know, they’re just sweating they’ve got the clothes on and that picture, was just me. And that’s exactly how I looked after I was done training and I needed to see that.’
‘You need someone you can look at and you think, ‘yeah that’s who I want to be’. Its not just me there’s other women coming through.
‘I’m not going to be a role model to everybody but they’re going to be able to pick and choose out of a whole list of women coming through.
‘You’ve got Natasha Jonas and Sandy Ryan, the list goes on so the girls are going to be able to pick and choose which one they identify the closest with.’

Speaking further on the difficulties she’s faced as a female boxer, Dubois explained: ‘Being a boxer is very difficult and being a female boxer is also very difficult because you have to make weight, you go on a cycle and that fluctuates your weight.
‘I wish I could have gone back and told my younger self the education about ‘ok you’ve got a certain amount of weight to make, you’ve got X amount of months or weeks and this is how you’re going to do it.’
Elsewhere on the night, undefeated Brits Buatsi and Azeez meet this Saturday at Wembley Arena in a fight that could determine the future challenger for the WBA light-heavyweight championship – currently held by Dmitry Bivol.
The pair – both from south London – are ranked No 1 and 2 respectively with the WBA, while Bivol is widely expected to next fight Artur Beterbiev in an undisputed clash for the light-heavyweight belts.
