Oleksandr Usyk has admitted that he has ‘no frustrations’ towards Tyson Fury despite the late postponement of their undisputed title fight.

The highly-anticipated bout had been scheduled to take place in Riyadh on February 17 but was postponed after Fury sustained an injury during camp.

The Gypsy King suffered a severe cut above his right eye on Friday while sparring, forcing the bout to be pushed back until May 18.

Despite the postponement of the fight, unified WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Usyk recently claimed he ‘loved’ Fury even more.

According to Sky Sports, Usyk said, ‘Of course, more. Why? Because it’s the man who has my fourth belt. It’s the man who helped me become famous a lot.

‘Because we, all people, must love friends, [people who are] not friends, acquaintances, all people. It’s great when you are polite, not dirty.’

Fury and Usyk’s long-awaited clash to determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion in more than two decades was postponed earlier this week after Fury sustained a cut above his right eye in sparring.

Footage later emerged of a sparring session where the Gypsy King appeared to be hit with a glancing elbow that could have caused the laceration that required multiple stitches.

Speaking on the fight cancellation, Usyk continued: ‘I didn’t even have any irritation inside. No frustration.

‘I just looked back at all the work I’ve done – getting up early, jogging, swimming, sparring, the amount of all it, and I thought to myself: ‘Wow, that’s some good work I did.’

‘Then I thought of how much more training I will do and how much good work I will do. So when, with God’s help, I will finish all this work, I’ll be able to box three Tyson Furys’.

Usyk also recently revealed that he missed the birth of his fourth child in order to prepare for his bout with Fury.

Usyk had been training in Spain for the bout and was so focused on his preparations that he missed the birth of his daughter in Ukraine last Thursday.

According to The Mirror, Usyk said: ‘I sacrificed all the dates we used to spend with my family,’ Usyk said. ‘Christmas, New Year, my birthday, my son’s birthday, the birthday of my second son and the birth of my daughter.

‘I was supposed to be somewhere around my wife, not in the room, but walking around waiting for her to give birth to my daughter’.
