However, with Padikkal and Sarfaraz out in the middle, both of them will need a bit of time to find their rhythm and if England can take a couple of wickets in this situation, the pressure will suddenly be on the hosts.

Shubman Gill’s dismissal was the 699th wicket for James Anderson as he slowly moves towards a sensational feat. He did not look very dangerous early in this match but considering his discipline and talent, he is capable of producing a beautiful delivery at any point in the game.

The dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill bring two batters out in the middle who are quite new to Test cricket. This is the debut for Padikkal while Sarfaraz is playing his second match. A good show here can be a major boost for both crickets and also a great chance for them to make a case for themselves when it comes to long-term selection.

England have started the second session in perfect fashion. James Anderson produced a lethal in-swinger and it penetrated right through Shubman Gill’s defense. The off-stump goes for a cartwheel and India find themselves three wickets down suddenly.
