Ryan Garcia has threatened to go full-Mike Tyson in his fight against Devin Haney in Brooklyn next month as he posted that he’s ‘hungry’ for Haney’s ears.

Garcia has been in the news the last few weeks for a troubling series of social media posts and discussions that have questioned his mental state.

That continued in the early hours of Thursday morning, when Garcia posted his latest threat to his opponent.

‘I might bite Haney ears,’ Garcia posted to Twitter – referencing Tyson’s infamous incident with Evander Holyfield.

But Garcia appeared to take it a step further: ‘Mike bit one ear / Ima bite both / I’m hungry’.

On Twitter, Garcia posted that he might end up biting both of Haney’s ears in their bout

It’s a reference to when Mike Tyson (black shorts) bit Evander Holyfield’s ears in 1997

It’s worth noting that Tyson did, in fact, bite both of Evander Holyfield’s ears in that bout in Las Vegas back in 1997.

The most infamous bite came when Tyson and Holyfield were in a clinch in the third round – with ‘Iron Mike’ moving his head above Holyfield’s shoulder and biting his right ear.

Holyfield jumped into the air in pain as a piece of cartilage torn from his ear was spat out onto the ring.

Referee Mills Lane delayed the fight as Holyfield got tended to and consulted with the chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Marc Ratner, whether or not to continue the fight.

Lane was considering disqualifying Tyson then and there, but after a ringside doctor cleared Holyfield to continue, the fight went on.

With less than 20 seconds remaining in the same round, Tyson bit Holyfield on the opposite ear – but only scarred him.

Once that second bite was discovered, Lane stopped the match and disqualified an enraged Tyson – who would temporarily lose his license to box.

Garcia has attracted attention and controversy for a number of troubling social media posts

As for Garcia, he’s been in the news for weeks over some controversial and disturbing social media posts.

That included a video posted to Twitter claiming that he was dead and that his ‘throat has been slit’.

Subjects in other Twitter posts include demons, UFOs, and how current Twitter CEO Elon Musk is the Antichrist.

In an Instagram Live video on Sunday, Garcia spouted about a myriad of topics – including his experience with astral projection, claims he rejected a visit with Benjamin Netanyahu, and being adamant that he does not do drugs.

Haney, who accused Garcia of using cocaine, assured fans that the fight would go on despite these recent outbursts.

‘The fight is happening April 20th.. he’s just playing crazy to “sell it” which is weird because it’s people who are actually crazy out there but he’s just acting for attention,’ Haney wrote in a now-deleted post.

In recent days, Garcia was seen flirting with an MMA reporter on social media, calling Nina-Marie Daniele a ‘baddie’
